Facts of the Day: From Forced-Union to RTW States

Based on the results of the 201o Census, eight U.S. states will gain a total of 12 House districts, and 10 states will lose those 12 Congressional seats.

Fact 1: Of the 8 states that will gain districts (Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Washington), all states except Washington are Right-to-Work states.

Fact 2: Of the 10 states that will lose districts (Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, and New Jersey), all states except Iowa and Louisiana are Forced-Unionism states.

Fact 3: Right-to-work states had a net gain of 9 House seats (gain of 11, loss of 2), and Forced-Unionism states had a net loss of 8 House seats (gain of 1, loss of 9).

I noticed that the states that gained population, which determines House seats, also tend to have warmer winter temperatures than states that lost seats.

Additionally, the huge baby-boomer population is starting to retire, and they often want to locate to a warmer climate.

Would it be safe to assume part of the population shift is from climate and U.S. demographic factors?

That's why we need to pass card check legislation. So that ALL states can suffer EQUALLY. It's only fair.

Walt G.

Why would they move south with all this global warming going on?

Coincidence.

The South: Because some people still believe in slavery, even if they have to turn it into something called "business friendliness".

Then they try to forcefully convert the North to its ways. In that context, Card Check is only a defense against such action. Never mind that businesses have made the "secret" ballot a farce, and just don't want anyone having that advantage.

Randall Holcome broke the results out according to the presence vs. absence of a state income tax.

I love going to work every day and take shit from a-holes because at least my taxes can go towards Sethstorm's welfare check. That affords him the opportunity to sit on his mother's couch and complain about slavery.

Michael Barone also notes the slavery problem :"Texas' diversified economy, business-friendly regulations and low taxes have attracted not only immigrants but substantial inflow from the other 49 states"...

The problem is that much like cockroaches, progressives destroy their environments then move on to the next.

An ex-union man was on the Frank Beckmann show yesterday. He had been in the UAW and his father was a UAW official in the Detorit area.

He said that when he went to work in an auto factory, the union rep came by several times and told him to slow down - he was working too fast. When he didn't slow down, the union offical threatened him.

The union official's reason for making this guy slow down was that if they all worked as slow as possible, Gm or Ford or Chrysler would have to hire more people.

His point was - how can any company survive when its employees act in this fashion.

That employers and employees flee this type of hostile work environment is no surprise.

Bob, I see this sort of thing continuing to happen. There are a number of fights on the horizon, particularly skilled trades vs salaried. The argument is skilled trades increasingly see their overtime and workforce threatened by salaried staff that can do their work, many times more efficiently and productively.

I say suck it up and cope. There will be no more bailouts.

Walt, warmer weather is contributing. But the biggest contributor is economic growth. Washington's weather stinks but they gained population because their state economy is booming.

Face it, Michigan lost population because the auto industry's day of reckoning occured in 1999-2009.

How does forcing somebody to join a union equate to liberty? Your logic is truly.Orwellian
